Dutch Oven Bread
Only 4 ingredients make this crusty, delicious bread perfect for winter and fall soup dipping.
Equipment
- 1 Dutch Oven
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 3 1/4 cup flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together water, yeast and salt until dissolved. Add the flour and stir until a sticky dough forms. Make sure the flour is uniformly wet. It will be messy and sticky.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise somewhere warm for 2-3 hours.
- 30-60 minutes before you are ready to bake, preheat your oven with your dutch oven inside to 450℉. Shape dough into a loaf, spray the dutch oven with cooking spray or use parchment paper to line the dutch oven and set the loaf into the hot dutch oven. Be careful because it's super hot!
- Cut a few slits into the top of the loaf and bake for 35 minutes with the lid on. Remove the lid and bake another 5-10 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Dump the bread out of the dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
