One of my favorite sides ever – there’s just something about Red Lobster biscuits isn’t there? I actually think these are better than the ones they serve at Red Lobster or the Cheddar Bay boxed biscuit mix you can buy. They’re just slightly different and better. I love to serve these to fall cattle work crews with chili or a good soup! They always go over really well and are super filling.
Red Lobster Biscuits (copycat recipe)
Packed with garlic and cheddar flavors, these tender biscuits go with just about anything!
Ingredients
Biscuits
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold salted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar (sharp cheddar is best)
- pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Topping
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉ and grease a baking sheet.
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a medium size bowl.
- Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend the butter in – the dough will be crumbly with small chunks of butter. Try to blend it down to large pea size butter chunks.
- Stir the shredded cheese into the mixture. Add the milk and stir until just combined.
- Place large spoonfuls of dough onto the greased baking sheet. I like to make mine a little over 2 inches in diameter – I don't form them at all. Just drop them on the baking sheet in little mounds.
- Bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes or until the tops are golden.
- Microwave the butter for the topping for a few seconds until melted. Add the garlic salt and the parsley (optional) to the butter and mix well. Brush onto the hot biscuits.
- Serve and enjoy!
