There really isn’t much to say about these rolls other than THEY ARE SO GOOD! I like to bring these for holidays at my parent’s house. Everyone loves them. They’re really easy and pretty quick to make for a yeast bread. I can bake them up the morning of the meal and still make an hour drive before lunch, no problem.
Texas Roadhouse Rolls & Cinnabutter
These rolls are little pillows of perfection and taste just like the rolls that are served at Texas Roadhouse. It's hard not to love them! This easy recipe puts awesome rolls on your dinner table in just a couple hours.
Ingredients
Rolls
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 large egg
- 5 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups bread flour
Cinnabutter
- 1 cup salted butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
Rolls
- I like to use my Kitchen Aid mixer but you can make these by hand as well. Combine the warm milk, yeast and honey in mixing bowl. Stir and let sit a couple minutes.
- Add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the liquids and stir together.
- Add flour and mix with the dough hook or with a spoon until well incorporated. If you are using your dough hook, knead on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add small amounts of flour if the dough is too sticky. If you are kneading by hand, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes. Add small amounts of flour as needed if the dough is very sticky. Slightly sticky dough is fine.
- Grease a large bowl, round dough into a ball, cover with greased plastic wrap and place in a warm spot to rise.
- Let rise for about 1 1/2 hours.
- Lighly flour a clean spot on your countertop. Roll the dough out into a rectangle on the counter about 1 inch thick.
- Fold the dough over in half, and roll back out to a thickness of 1 inch. (This fold makes the buns super easy to pull apart to butter.)
- Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into 2×2 inch squares if you want them to be about Texas Roadhouse size. Make them bigger or smaller if you wish, they will increase in size a bit while they rise.
- Place the squares on a greased baking sheet and let rise another 30-45 minutes or until the rolls have risen sufficiently.
- Preheat oven to 350° while the rolls rise.
- Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden.
Cinnabutter
- With a hand mixer, beat butter until fluffy .
- Add honey and cinnamon and beat well until incorporated and cinnabutter is fluffy. Add more honey or cinnamon to taste if needed.
Notes
Makes 12-15 rolls depending on the size you cut them.
