About Us

G3 Ranch Beef is owned and operated by Elmer and Christina Gilbertson. We are located south of Parshall, ND along the shore of Deepwater Bay on Lake Sakakawea. We welcomed our son Sutton in November 2022. In addition to the cattle, we also have a small grains farming operation; planting corn, soybeans, spring wheat and canola on a rotation each year.

Why Choose Ranch to Table Beef?

We believe in the importance of knowing where your food comes from and how it’s raised. Many people do not have have the opportunity to raise and grow their own food like we do here on the G3.

We are so blessed to be able to live this lifestyle and to know exactly where the meat we feed our family comes from. We are passionate about sharing our opportunities with you by offering affordable beef for your family. In a world filled with substitutes and fillers, we believe in keeping food simple. Ranch to table beef is just that, simply beef – an ethically and sustainably raised, high quality protein source that your family will love.

Our beef is home raised, start to finish right here on the ranch and processed locally. Purchasing directly from a local ranch is the most economical way to fill your freezer with quality beef.

The Cattle

We run Angus cattle and cross them on Hereford and Angus bulls, producing a mix of F1 black baldies and Angus calves. We have found that this great cross produces calves with hybrid vigor that grow and thrive in our climate.

Here on the G3, we implement low stress handling techniques and try to work with nature’s schedule to eliminate stress on the cattle from less than desirable weather. Cattle are rotated through native prairie pastures throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons.

We begin our calving season in late April to (hopefully) avoid major blizzards and extreme cold. Calves are born in the pasture and remain there until late November when they are weaned. Through the winter they are put on a ration of hay, corn silage, grain and mineral. Calves are transitioned to a grain based diet the following spring and summer while they reach finished weight.
