I had an iced salted vanilla latte while I was browsing Scheels (like a cool mom with my stroller and iced coffee) with a friend not too long ago and it immediately became my new favorite flavor. I loved it so much it inspired me to pull out my espresso machine and start making lattes at home again, specifically this flavor.
Secret ingredient:: Salt. Who would have thought? I have found that salt really “tones” the flavor of store bought syrup and enhances the flavor if you’re making the homemade vanilla syrup recipe.
I add it to all the lattes I make now and it’s so good! A tiny pinch goes a long way! As a bonus, the little shaker of pink salt on my coffee bar makes me feel like I’m a fancy barista instead of just a tired, new mom barista.
