Notes

When I made this recipe to photograph for the blog - I just used what I had on hand at the time.
If you just want a batch for a couple people, use 1 lb of ground beef. We're big eaters here, so if you're feeding a family of 4 or more, go ahead and use two lbs of ground beef.
I used a red bell pepper rather than green, a purple onion rather than yellow, and half provolone and half pepper jack cheese. It was fantastic! It will be good no matter what you use!
Skillet Directions:
Brown ground beef, add butter, onion, pepper, mushrooms and sauté for a few minutes. Add the beef broth, cornstarch/broth, Worcestershire, ketchup and seasonings. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to thicken. Remove from heat and add the cheese, let it melt and stir it in well. Serve it up on your buns.
Sliced steak like a real Philly cheesesteak would also be excellent in this recipe!
