Ingredients

  • 1 lb G3 Ranch Ground Beef
  • 1 small onion, diced finely (or half a large onion)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 10 oz can Rotel
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 15 oz can chili beans
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 cup beef broth (chicken broth or water work fine)

Toppings (optional)

  • shredded cheddar
  • sour cream
  • green onions
  • fritos

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef and let the onion sauté with it in a skillet.
  • If you are using a crockpot, dump everything into it, stir it well and set it on low for a few hours or until you're ready to eat. Stir occasionally.
  • If you are making it on the stove to eat immediately, dump the remaining ingredients into the skillet with the ground beef and onion and stir well. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • When you're ready to eat, add your toppings of choice and enjoy! This pairs really well with Red Lobster Biscuits or corn bread and honey.

Notes

Chili is one of those super flexible recipes, here are a few swaps I make depending on what I have on hand.
Rotel  or regular canned diced tomatoes
Tomato sauce or 3 TBSP tomato paste with 1/2 cup extra broth or water
Chili beans or rinsed kidney beans, pinto beans, or black beans.
Beans - if you like a lot of beans in your chili, you should probably add a second can of your choice of beans. I leave the chili beans in the sauce they come in, but rinse any other beans well.
If you like a spicier chili, add some jalapeños or crushed/ground cayenne pepper.
